About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, People & Wellbeing, your role will be to lead and transform this new function and team to provide a consistent, proactive and best practice service offering focussing on care and wellbeing. This position is strategic, advisory and “hands-on” and will be responsible for creating best-in-class workplace safety and employee care frameworks, enhancing safety systems, and building a high-performing team to establish industry best practices in mental health, psychosocial safety & employee relations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and develop a team of ER specialists and WHS safety leads, fostering cross-functional expertise and providing thought leadership to build well-rounded professionals.
- Drive the Enterprise ER and WHS strategic agenda embedding evidence based, best practice psychological safety and risk management into people systems, policies, processes and frameworks to drive a safe and mentally healthy workplace
- Psychosocial Risk Management: Lead, develop and implement the next phase of the psychosocial safety strategy, staying ahead of evolving regulatory requirements, integrating best practices into operations to position the organisation as a leader in psychosocial risk management externally.
- Safety (WHS) Systems Management: Optimise and implement improvements and best practices with the organisations safety management system to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Enhance ER Systems and Processes - Develop and continually improve on systems and processes in ER and align with WHS to enable consistent case management outcomes
- Board Reporting and Benchmarking: Develop and enhance board reporting by leveraging data, application of benchmarking, and lead / lag indicators to improve insights and decision-making.
Tertiary qualified, you are a “hands on” and future focussed leader who is proactive, impactful and passionate about care & wellbeing and the employee experience and have a background gained from WHS, mental health or related health environments. You have expert knowledge in WHS & ER legislation and mental health, psychosocial risks and wellbeing. Your evidence-based approach will see you producing and analysing impactful, metrics driven Board reports.
